Diversity-theme traffic lights

by loloelen

Last week I was in Vienna and I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity-theme traffic lights.  No doubt, Vienna is an open minded city that respects human rights.

Upon the end of my trip I googled it and I found out that the traffic light pictograms of straight and same-sex couples were introduced in May 2015 (when the city was getting ready for the Vienna Life Ball and the Eurovision Song Contest) with main purpose to highlight the diversity of the city’s population and to increase traffic safety by ensuring people pay more attention to traffic lights.

You can find further details at the city’s website official reference.

My mind perceived that as inspirational, awakening, impressive, meaningful, avant-garde, admiring, reverent, civil etc. … the list is too long!

We should all respect diversity and equality and just show and tell it!

Good work!
