Relocation: first step to a gentler life

by loloelen

Recently I left my cozy apartment in Zurich for a smaller one, in order to reduce the living cost and make a budget to start this little project of mine called “loloelen” …..  Although was my 4th relocation, it was still challenging experience and I wanted to share it with you.

You see, this time I managed to do everything 100% on my own…. Maybe it sounds a little bit selfish but it isn’t.  It was a decision taken by my need to feel certain of what I am doing, to allocate my goals, my expectations and give a personal touch to all my movements as this relocation was the outcome of my life decision to change my professional occupation and start living a gentler life (we will discuss this gentler life necessity soon – next week actually).

Maybe you will wonder why challenging? I just wanted to make sure that I won’t have any regrets at all.  I loved this house – although I didn’t spend as much time as I wanted – it was a house “adorned” by myself, step by step, literally a space full of dreams for many years ahead in it.

Relocating was the first step for this life change and It should be done properly and with no rush.  I did all the public authorities stuff such as new address declaration, post mail forwarding, phone-wifi-tv cancellations etc, I found a new tenant in order to be released by my rental agreement (this was maybe the most stressful situation but also the most rewarding one since the feedback provided by all candidates-visitors was so benignant that filled me with pure emotion), I negotiated the moving-transport details and I spent a week to pack all my things …. Oh yes, it took me a week (one person house is still a full household), I got so tired that I took two days off of all, with no exemption, right after but I kindled old memories and I fired up all my senses and emotions!

I left with a bitter sentiment when I saw it totally empty, as it was a sort of an “end” but on the other hand I was full of power and will to move on, to take the next step and start chasing my dreams.

I hop you’ ll stand by me to this new beginning.
